    Description

    Entertainment in Thien Huong Village

The banyan trees that are hundreds of years at the village's entrance make a particular impression. They stand high like guardians of the village and are regarded as symbols of longevity and supple vitality.

In Vietnamese culture, a banyan tree symbolizes spirituality. It is also a sacred tree regarded as the residence of the gods, so no one dares cut them down.

Under the most ancient banyan tree in the village is Thần Lâm Temple, which was built long ago to worship the Forest God.Every third lunar month, the people of Thien Huong village gather here to celebrate the festival of Than Lam.

It is also an opportunity for children far from home to return home to visit their families and villages to participate in the worshipping ceremony. The worshipping ceremony of Than Lam was held very solemnly, bearing the original features of a spiritual festival of the people here to pray for the village to have a year of favourable rain and wind, good crops, a prosperous home and healthy people. After the shaman completes the ritual, the villagers will enjoy the food right at the shrine.
