Introduction to Loc Yen village

Loc Yen ancient village is located about 40 km southwest of Quang Nam city centre. According to traditional history, this village was formed in the 15th - 16th centuries on a high hilly area with green natural landscape and was dubbed the land of "fairy fortune".

Today, Loc Yen is one of the most beautiful ancient villages in Vietnam, incorporating a large area of about 279 hectares, including people's houses, stone alleys, gardens, and green natural rice fields. In the village, there are many clans living together in harmony, preserving the long-standing traditional cultural identity. Most of the houses here are built against the back of the mountain, facing the peaceful and spacious rice fields. In particular, the village is hidden in a round valley, surrounded by mountains. At the foot of the mountain there are rivers and streams, so the scenery here is always peaceful and fresh.

In September 2019, Loc Yen was ranked as a National Monument, becoming a destination in Quang Nam that is loved by many tourists. Visiting this small village, visitors will understand why this place has become one of the most beautiful villages in Vietnam. From the hundred-year-old houses, the village roads to the orchards, all are like stepping out of a fairy tale.

Due to the terrain, the structure in the ancient village of Loc Yen is hilly, so since ancient times, local people have used stones to line both sides of the alley, forming solid stone fences around the garden. This is the solution to keep the land bank from being eroded by floods. In addition, it also helps to divide the boundaries of the garden in a natural and beautiful way.
