Introduction to Cibuntu Tourism Village

Cibuntu Village is located in Pasawahan District, Kuningan Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia. Geographically, Cibuntu Tourism Village is located at the foot of Ciremai Mountain with a view of hills, rice fields, and plantations. As well as several views that can be enjoyed such as the sunrise, and the view of Cirebon City at night which is very beautiful.

The character of the Cibuntu Tourism Village community until now still upholds local wisdom, such as: maintaining harmonious social relations and mutual respect, maintaining and preserving the values of mutual cooperation traditions, preserving ancestral traditions.

Cibuntu Tourism Village is often recorded by several national and local TV stations, and there are recordings about it. One of the habits of the Cibuntu Tourism Village community is to always execute the program by the Village Government, one of which is in terms of handling cleanliness, the community is used to doing environmental cleaning activities every Friday and Sunday and sorting household waste (organic and inorganic). Inorganic waste is transported by garbage collectors to the landfill to be burned using an incinerator, and organic waste is mixed with goat manure to be processed into organic fertilizer.

Even before it became a Tourism Village, the community had grown to keep up times and the economy, none of the houses of the Cibuntu Village residents were made of wood and leaves (all were permanent buildings).
Regarding the layout of the residents' housing that has been formed for a long time the Village Government, just needs to complete and improve things that are still lacking, including in terms of infrastructure.

The relationship with village customs is more to the tradition of mutual cooperation when there are residents who are going to build/renovate a house. The majority of the population's main occupation is farming and sheep raising

Cultural Information

For tourists, you will find unique traditional and cultural activities. You will be able to see local farming and the use of manual production with traditional methods. For those who like to explore the culture of an area, you will be welcomed in this village, as you will learn more about family traditions and nature in here.

This village has its own art team that will produce cultural performances that are rich in history. This includes dancing and singing along with traditional musical instruments. As for the apparel, for every Sedekah Bumi celebration, the whole community will use traditional clothes such as pangsi and headbands for men, and kebaya for women.

Transport to Cibuntu Tourism Village

Transportation to Cibuntu Tourism Village can use two or four wheels and buses. In general, visitors who come to Cibuntu both live in and day tour use their own vehicles, both 2 (two) wheels, 4 (four) wheels and buses, if visitors or guests need vehicle facilities, the manager will provide them.

What’s good to eat in Cibuntu Tourism Village

There are several special dishes that visitors will try and introduce the cooking method, origin, and history of the dish. Lodeh stew, sayur asam (tamarind soup), bamboo shoot soup, roasted goat/mutton satay, and various kinds of freshwater fish preparations. There is no arrangement to eat at a certain time. For vegetarians, there are menus other than meat, such as vegetables and others. The residents of Cibuntu Village are all Muslim, so the Village Government prohibits its residents from consuming alcoholic/hard drinks.

Visitors will enjoy the very unique cuisine of the villagers, especially in the village there are vegetables, fruits and meat that villagers get by themselves seasonally, for types of fruit such as: durian, avocado, banana, strawberry, pineapple.

    Information about accommodation in Cibuntu Tourism Village

    Currently, Cibuntu Tourism Village has nearly 60 home stays with 110 rooms and a camp area that can accommodate up to 100 guests comfortably and safe. Almost all homestays in the Cibuntu tourist village have facilities that fit the standard criteria. All homestays are close to spots in the Cibuntu tourist village

    In general, the tour packages offered to tourists are staying at homestays and camps. Some of the equipment that must be brought by tourists includes toiletries (soap, toothpaste, towels). If in the rainy season bring a jacket, raincoat/umbrella.

    While in the Cibuntu Tourism Village, tourists can learn Sundanese dance, learn Sundanese gamelan/musical instruments, learn angklung, participate in community activities (mowing grass, working on rice fields, farming, harvesting agricultural products), village tours, feeding sheep, learn to make organic fertilizer, cultural dialogue, learn pottery crafts, off-road, and others. Tours that can be followed include village tours, cultural dialogues, art performances, following the daily activities of homestay owners.

    Entertainment in Cibuntu Tourism Village

    Cibuntu Tourism Village only knows two seasons (rain and summer). The suitable position is during the dry season. In every season, Cibuntu Tourism Village still looks beautiful.

    Every spot in the Cibuntu Tourism Village can be visited on foot, such as ancient sites, kahuripan springs, waterfalls, goat villages, and camping grounds with swimming pool facilities. Because Cibuntu Tourism Village is located in the mountains with an altitude of 600 meters above sea level, what tourists must prepare is: wear non-slip footwear, hats, pants/shirts/long-sleeved shirts, and anti-mosquito lotion.

    Visitors can take part in the activities that we provide in the tour package such as Traditional ceremonies, enjoying a welcome drink (jasreh drink) learning Sundanese dances, learning Sundanese musical instruments/gamelan, learning angklung, enjoying the karuhun performing arts, participating in in community activities (sweeping grass, working on rice fields, farming, harvesting agricultural products), village tours, feeding sheep, learning to make organic fertilizer, cultural dialogue, learning pottery crafts, off-road and so on

    This village also has a Sedekah Bumi Festival, which is held every October and has meaning as a manifestation of the gratitude of the village community for the harvest/earth. At this festival, there are many activities that attract lots of people like community festivals, food festivals, art/dance festivals and there are many traditional game that tourist can participate in with the local such as Gangsing, egrang, bebeletokan and tuluban.
